FAQ - Seek the Sun Psychotherapy

Getting Started

Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! I am currently accepting new clients and can often schedule your first session within a week or two. I see clients in Round Rock, North Austin, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, and surrounding areas, as well as virtually anywhere in Texas.

What types of clients do you see?
I work with individuals (ages 13+), couples, and families who are seeking support with trauma recovery, relationship struggles, or family conflict.

What hours are you available for appointments?
Appointments are generally available Monday–Thursday from 9am–4pm, with limited evening sessions by request. In-person sessions are available in Round Rock, and I also provide secure online therapy for clients across Texas.

How do I schedule an appointment?
First, we’ll have a brief phone or Zoom consultation to ensure we’re a good fit. You can click on the button below to schedule. If you don’t see a time that works for you, please email me at tsavener@seekthesun.net with your availability.

What happens at the free consultation?
We’ll talk about what you’re looking for in a therapist and answer any questions. If you feel comfortable moving forward, we’ll schedule your first session—either in my Round Rock office or online.

What can I expect in the first session?
The first session focuses on understanding your goals for therapy and how I can best support you. I’ll ask questions to get a clear picture of your needs and explain how we can move forward together.

Additional Questions

How long does therapy take?
It depends on your needs and goals. Some people benefit from short-term therapy, while others prefer long-term support. We’ll regularly check in to ensure therapy is working for you.

Can we work together if my partner or family members aren’t ready for therapy?
Absolutely. Individual therapy can be a powerful step toward change, even if your loved ones aren’t ready to join. If your partner decides to start couples therapy later, I can help connect you with the right support.

What are your thoughts on reunification with estranged family members?
Every family is unique. I support clients in exploring their feelings and deciding what’s best for them, whether that means reconnecting or maintaining boundaries. Therapy provides a safe space to process emotions, grief, and decisions around estrangement.

What is a “no secrets policy”?
In couples therapy, the relationship is the client. I do not keep secrets between partners. If something important comes up individually, I will help you share it with your partner so the process stays supportive and transparent, or we will need to end our work together.

Still Have Questions?

I’d love to help you find the right next step. Whether you’re looking for trauma-informed therapy in Round Rock, couples counseling in Austin, or family therapy in Cedar Park, Pflugerville, or Leander, I offer a safe and supportive space for healing.
