Getting Started

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes. I’m currently welcoming new clients and can often schedule your first session within one to two weeks. I offer in-person therapy in Northwest Austin (Mopac & Far West) and Round Rock, TX, as well as secure online therapy for clients throughout Texas, including Austin, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, and surrounding areas.

What types of clients do you see?

I work with individuals (ages 13+), couples, and families seeking support with trauma, relationship challenges, and family conflict.

What are your office hours?

Appointments are generally available Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with limited evening availability by request.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Most clients begin with a brief consultation to determine fit. In some cases, we may decide together to schedule an initial session directly. You can use the booking link below to schedule. If you don’t see a time that works, email me at tsavener@seekthesun.net with your availability and I will do my best to accommodate you.

What happens at the free consultation?

We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions you have about the process. It’s also a chance to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first session in Northwest Austin, Round Rock, or online anywhere in Texas.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session focuses on understanding your goals and what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to get a clear picture of your needs and begin identifying how we can move forward together.

Services & Specialties

What types of issues do you specialize in?

I provide trauma-informed, relational therapy for individuals, couples, teens, and families.

I work with couples healing from betrayal trauma, infidelity, attachment wounds, and emotional disconnection, including rebuilding trust and improving communication.

I also support individuals processing childhood trauma, emotional neglect, attachment wounds, and painful relationship patterns such as anxiety, self-doubt, and people-pleasing.

In addition, I work with family conflict and estrangement, including challenges related to emotionally immature or high-conflict family systems.

Common areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, grief, burnout, life transitions, and relational stress.

  • $150 per 50-minute session

  • $250 per 90-minute session (by arrangement)

No.

No.

Are there specific issues you don’t treat?

Yes. While I work with a wide range of trauma and relationship concerns, some issues require a different level of care.

I do not provide treatment for active substance or alcohol dependence, eating disorders, or primary OCD treatment.

In couples therapy, I am not able to work with relationships involving ongoing domestic violence or coercive control, untreated severe mental health conditions that significantly impair stability or safety, or ongoing secretive affairs.

When appropriate, I can help connect you with referral options for a higher level of care.

Do you provide crisis intervention or emergency care?

No. I do not provide crisis services, emergency care, after-hours support, or case management.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact your local crisis line.

Additional Questions

How long does therapy take?

It varies. Some clients benefit from short-term work, while others engage in longer-term therapy. We will regularly check in to ensure therapy is meeting your needs.

Can I work on my own if my partner or family isn’t ready?

Yes. Individual therapy can be effective even if others are not ready to participate. If couples or family therapy becomes appropriate later, I can help guide that process.

What is your approach to family estrangement?

I support clients in exploring their experiences and making decisions that align with their values and emotional wellbeing—whether that involves reconnection, boundaries, or distance. Therapy provides space to process grief, confusion, and relational stress without pressure.

What is your “no secrets” policy in couples therapy?

In couples therapy, the relationship is the client. I do not hold secrets between partners. If something important arises individually, we will work together to bring it into the relational process in a safe and structured way.

Still have questions?

I’d be happy to help you decide whether therapy is the right next step. You can schedule a consultation or reach out by email at tsavener@seekthesun.net.
